Over the Golden Gate Bridge you will find the charming town of Sausalito, California. We traveled here during Memorial weekend and loved how beautiful it was. The fog rolling down the hills was mesmerizing.
I love any city on water. The salty breeze and view of the boats makes you feel instantly on vacation!
We noticed there was a ferry you can take which we will have to check out next time we are there!
We were only here for the day but when we go back I would love to stay at the “Inn above the tide” because of its location!
The views of the San Francisco were foggy and beautiful.
We loved walking the streets and checking out the shops.
The city is very clean and there seems to be a lot of meter parking everywhere.
I loved all the unique shops.
My jaw dropped when I saw Lappert’s ice cream here! I adore the Hawaiian inspired flavors which I have only had in Maui. I had no idea there was a store so close to home!
My husband got the waffle cone with cookie dough ice cream and I got the delicious passion fruit sorbet! The shop was busy and had no real line. You walk in and order from the next available person which is a bit confusing. You also have to pay in cash but they do have a ATM. But the cool delicious taste of the islands really hit the spot! They have other exotic flavors like Kona Coffee and Chocolate Macadamia Nut.
There is a small fountain in the center of the town which is a nice place to eat your ice cream and relax.
We were so full from brunch at Fred’s Coffee Shop and ice cream we didn’t stop for lunch but next time I go back I want to try this burger place that had a huge line and delicious smelling food!
I was won over by the charming and colorful town of Sausalito.
Everything is in full bloom and beautiful in May. I would love to live here!
We really enjoyed walking the neighborhoods and seeing all the charming homes.
I have never been to a town with so many flowers blooming along the sidewalk.
I adored how the hills were lined with houses which all have an amazing view of the water. It reminded me of the Greek Villages we saw in our earlier post. I for sure fell for Sausalito and if you are ever in San Francisco you have to cross the Golden Gate Bridge to check it out!
Have you ever been to Sausalito? What are your favorite things to do or eat there?
